What I'm reading: Kon-Tiki
I am totally engrossed in this book right now so don't expect any substantive posts here until I'm finished. Luckily, it is so good I can't put it down. Looks like it will be a late night. Highly Recommended.
Amateur radio operators travel to far away and exotic places to communicate with other "hams". Such an expedition is often called a "DXpedition", an expedition to do distance communication. The "100 pound DXpedition" describes my quest to do these DXpeditions with a minimum of equipment and maximum fun.

Looks like we may have a new Tikiphile in the making... if you didn't know already, the Tiki scene has regained popularity on both coasts in a big way!

The last site is an example of the big Tiki parties we have (3 days long!) at various home Tiki bars. It's a fun subculture, and we all love Thor!
